Paul in the office has been helpful and open. Tamir who has helped us work out more details is a stand up guy, so professional and knowledgeable! I appreciated the attention to details and his vast experience. He took us to a work site and it was reassuring to see a similar project we had in mind. Tamir also washed out our AC unit (which was totally gross!) when it went bust and he didn’t have too! Super nice, and the pride and confidence in his work is reassuring. So I’ve been working with Preferred for the past months and now that the project is coming closer to the end, I wanted to highlight my experience having worked with the team. Eli and Talia whom I’ve had the pleasure of working with, have been nothing but amazing on their delivery in every aspect. Phone calls and texts always get answered and always impress me in the way they handle everything - extremely organized and timely. When they say things will get done a certain time and day, expect nothing but that. The greatest aspect however is their ability to handle hurdles and difficulties when they come about and how efficient and professional they truly are. Now, they rarely come about problems because of how iron-clad their process is but when they do and it’s usually MY OWN FAULT that causes it, they are always one step ahead and find solutions to help me. They are so supportive and are truly your best friend when it comes to anything construction. A master at their craft. Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We just passed final inspection on a 430sqft room addition with Preferred Home Builders! When we started looking for people for this project about 4 months ago I met with four companies. PHB was the first one we met with. Tamir the owner came by and he looked at our blueprint drawings and looked out back of the house and he quickly understood the scope of the work and idea of the project. His experience in the field definitely shows in his understanding of the project. His estimate of the completion was 3 months. He was confident in that though I was skeptical. I spoke with another customer he was working with at the time to get feedback on her experience with them. She actually was a repeat customer.
After a few weeks of meeting others we decided that Tamir and PHB would be our choice. His pricing was more than fair. Once we signed things moved along very quickly. Talia, who is also his daughter, helped coordinate the scheduling for each weeks work. She's been amazing throughout the process. Always letting us know what to expect for each phase of the project. Steven the foreman has been more than amazing! He and his team of workers have been great to work with - professionally and personally. Everyone at PHB has been great working with. Almost exactly to 3 months when we started we are done!
Has everything been perfect? Of course not. It never is. I've worked with different contractors for different projects at my house and there's always something that goes wrong. But the important thing is how do they respond when you have a problem? PHB always made sure to address everything I bring up and never said they can't do something or give me problems fixing something. You also expect to have some additional charges for unexpected things. How much extra did I pay? ZERO! First time in a major home project that I didn't end up paying any extra charges!
We referred them to our friend also and they just started work on their addition and we have another friend who's meeting with them for a major project. Very happy I found PHB and would gladly recommend them for your home project! Thanks Tamir and everyone at PHB!

Our bathroom was featured in Angie's List. Their work withstood the decade still looking beautiful, and we never had any doubt about using them again.
Today, we met with Tamir to start our kitchen remodel and I remember now how lovely he is to work with. He has such great vision and is able to render schematics right on the spot, showing the designs, dimensions and options. He was thorough, efficient and his enthusiasm for the project makes him a joy to work with. His cost estimate was right in line with what we were expecting.
I am really looking forward to seeing this new project come to fruition. I'll keep you all posted...

There was a lot to coordinate and between Paulina at the office, Nir our project manager and the crew we were kept informed as to how things were progressing, which milestones and inspections we were hitting each week, what they needed from us and what next steps would be the whole way. The detail they went into before the project began meant that changes during the project were kept to an absolute minimum, which in turn kept us on budget for the work that they were doing.
They were patient with our questions and helped guide us through the process. They were really focused on making sure that we were happy with the product the whole way through. We knew we had picked a good contractor when we signed with them, but now I can honestly say we picked a GREAT contractor!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Preferred Home Builders saved us over $10,000 and we haven't even worked with them yet! Our ADU was damaged in the floods. We had to relocate our tenant and find a contractor overnight. A contractor that we'd worked with previously for small jobs came to evaluate the damage and told us the foundation was cracked, there was mold everywhere- Just the absolute worst thing you want to hear as a home owner. Naturally we paid the deposit and to start the demolition. Then the contractor starts demanding more and more money outside of the agreed upon payment schedule. I don't use the word demand lightly. He was literally calling every day. Maybe he was relying on the fact that we knew him, but nope. Red flag.
I found Preferred Home Builder to get a second opinion. The man that answered (I wish I wrote his name down) listened to the problem and literally gave me a 30 min free consultation on what the problem likely was (Spoiler: not the foundation). He kindly explained that it was likely a drainage issue in the yard, but recommended we contact a landscaper to fix the root of the problem (the drainage) not just the symptoms (the water in the house). He didn't try to sell me anything. He just listened and offered advice. Just talking to him and working through the possibilities helped make a very stressful situation suddenly feel so much easier to handle. The next week the landscaping company arrived and confirmed the drainage issue. A foundation specialist came (just in case) to take a look at the foundation and also confirmed it was not a foundation issue.
The price to have the yard drainage fixed doesn't come close to the price this other guy wanted to charge. Which means we have more money to devote to repairing the interior of the ADU (the demolition was needed because there was mold). Guess who we're hiring for that job? Preferred Home Builders. There's no way I would miss an opportunity to work with a company that is great at what they do, but also genuinely cares for people LONG before they pull their credit card out. We will get a beautifully renovated ADU and our peace of mind. We couldn't ask for more

Verified As we wind down on my ADU project, I have to take a moment to thank the team for a job well done. From Tamir (the owner) to the most junior worker, the results have been beyond my wildest expectations (and believe me I'm extremely picky). I was assigned two awesome foreman (Valentino and Nano) and their skills and oversight are impeccable. Valentino is an amazing craftsman, a welcome perfectionist, knows his stuff and he oversaw my project with incredible finesse, detail and professionalism. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better person than Valentino to run the project. Nano is also someone who is highly skilled, a quiet warrior in the construction arena, and gets things done all while making it look easy. I so appreciate every single person I've encountered during this 4 month project. The project is coming in on schedule and at 100% of the quote, there have been zero hidden costs. Tamir promised me perfection and a solid construction/support team and I totally got it, plus some. And finally, my project manager Talia has been a great source of support to me from beginning to end, with high quality referrals, weekly updates, and excellent follow up even while on vacation!

Verified We have an ADU and it's beautiful! Preferred Home Builders and specifically Tomir and Talia have helped us through every stage of this project. They guided us through design to make our small space work better for us than I imagined possible. They took care of dealing with permits and making sure everything was to code and we passed all inspections with ease. Construction was surprisingly fast! They really know what they are doing. The schedule and they laid out for us from the very beginning is pretty much exactly how it worked out. The cost was fair with no surprises and they really worked with us to make sure we are getting very high value for our budget.
We got very lucky finding them. They have the experience and expertise that we needed and they have been communicative and transparent throughout the whole process. Preferred is a family business that really takes care. They treated us like family. We have been so impressed throughout the process and now as they finish the very last details with attention and precision we are delighted with the outcome!

Verified I own a condo in Pasadena, CA, where permit rules, CC&Rs are pretty strict. Preferred Home Builders impressed me from the start! They began work soon after I signed the contract, Rene, the designer helped me choose the tiles, the decor for my bathroom remodel. He even picked up the materials for me and delivered them to my condo. He was very professional and showed up once a week to see how the remodel was going and always responded on a timely basis.
Jadi, the project manager is amazing, from the very start of the project, she would send me weekly calendars showing what work would be done each day. She always answered the phone with a friendly, " how are you?" I have never met a person to have such integrity, dependability, and great work ethic, where she would answer her phone even as her shift was ending or had ended. She always helped me out with any requests or questions I had. The workers were amazing as well, they showed up on time, they worked without disruption, they were very accommodating, worked with integrity and very courteous. They always cleaned the area they worked in before they left. George, the plumber, impressed me with his creative ways to resolve some tricky plumbing challenge to make it all fit inside the pedestal for my sink. Genius! The bathroom looks amazing, I am so happy with the results. I would highly recommend hiring this company for any job without hesitation. Love you guys!

Nir and Elba were with us at every stage of this project. From planning, working through changes together, weekly updates, texts, videos, pictures, phone calls, in person visits, answering all our questions, delays and more. They both were very responsive to any concerns and addressed them quickly. They made sure we were 100% satisfied with all the work that was done. We feel that Nir and Elba really cared about building the extension of our dreams and we built a good working relationship with them.
The crew of workers that were here weekdays and weekends. All were very friendly and took the time to make sure to check in that we liked what they did that day.

Verified I met several other contractors but it was clear that Preferred were the experts in the Kitchen remodel category from the first meeting with Nir. They were transparent about pricing, discussed various options / layouts / costs, etc. I ultimately went with a design that fit my budget after several conversations with Nir.
Accommodating - I had to push the start date back for personal reasons and they were understanding and supportive. Once we actually started the project flowed according to their timeline.
Supportive - throughout the process Nir & Alba (Project Manager) were both extremely helpful. Nir offered help and suggestions along the way when it came to purchases and project decision. Alba helped us stay on track, liaised between all parties, and ensured the project ran smoothly.
Attention to detail - WOW, the house looks completely different and it's because I chose the right contractor. I'm a firm believer in the saying "you pay for what you get". Quality matters to me, craftsmanship matters, and professionalism matters to me. If it matters to you then do yourself a favor and connect with Preferred Home Builders.
